Long Island's Home Improvement Expert
One of the best things about my job – or my former job – was being able to speak with fellow homeowners about their projects. Whether a small maintenance issue, a minor DIY project or a large renovation, these concerns always seemed to follow me around on Long Island. Once, when I was coaching a youth ice hockey game, the referee came over to our bench between periods to ask about a home maintenance issue. I joked that if my team could get a couple of calls, I'd be happy to help him. He had a good sense of humor, thank goodness. And I must confess I've always put my profession before any personal gain. We spoke after the game (a loss, as I recall) and I gave him good advice. Starting next month, I'm going to be able to talk home improvement on a more regular basis.
